Soccer Recap: Maryvale Prep Starts off Right with Win over Mountainside

Maryvale Prep gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Mountainside Wolves with a sharp 8-1 victory.

Maryvale Prep's offense was hitting Mountainside from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Emiliano Tanori led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

This is the second loss in a row for Mountainside and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Maryvale Prep didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Scottsdale Christian Academy on the 12th. As for Mountainside, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on BASIS Phoenix at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
