It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fayetteville can now relate to. They fell just short of the Brookeland Wildcats by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Fayetteville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Winford, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Fayetteville's defeat dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Brookeland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season.

While Fayetteville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
