Basketball Recap: Platte Valley Find Success

While Platte Valley has struggled at home with four straight losses, that wasn't the case on Thursday thanks to Talyn Short. The Platte Valley Broncos blew past the Fort Morgan Mustangs 63-35 for which the team can thank Short, who went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc to rack up 31 points. He has become a key player for Platte Valley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 20 points, but 4-16 otherwise.

Dominic Maldonado was another key player, putting up seven points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Platte Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Fort Morgan, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Platte Valley nor Fort Morgan have any future games scheduled.
