Baseball Recap: Model Wins Going Away Against Burgin

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Estill County, Model was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Burgin Bulldogs with a sharp 14-8 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Patriots needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Model's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kayden Wade, who went 3-for-4 with six stolen bases and three runs. Those six stolen bases gave Wade a new career-high. Levi Adams was another, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Model always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Model's win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Burgin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Model will venture away from home to square off against Madison Central at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Burgin, they will head out to challenge West Jessamine at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
