Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, East Ridge couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Sarasota Sailors by a score of 8-7 on Tuesday. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

East Ridge got a good showing from Simmone Hymiller, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Hymiller has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lelia Bolden made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Amberlynn Collins was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

East Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 22-6. As for Sarasota, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

East Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sarasota, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-3 victory against Sumner on the 15th.
