South Brunswick and Topsail are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Cougars will square off against the Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While South Brunswick's win against New Hanover wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Wildcats 2-1. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Topsail came into Thursday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They won by a run and slipped past North Brunswick 9-8.

South Brunswick's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-10. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Topsail, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.

South Brunswick couldn't quite get it done against Topsail in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 8-4. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
