East Duplin has won 13 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Heide Trask has won 13 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Duplin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Karsyn Parker, who had 12 aces and four digs. Those 12 aces gave Parker a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilliana Houston, who had five aces.
They weren't the only good servers: East Duplin was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 22 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Heide Trask made easy work of South Lenoir on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.
Heide Trask was especially dominant in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 25-13.
Heide Trask's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for East Duplin, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: East Duplin hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 5.7 blocks per game. It's a different story for Heide Trask, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 blocks. Given East Duplin's sizable advantage in that area, the Titans will need to find a way to close that gap.
East Duplin took their win against Heide Trask in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
