Converse posted their closest victory since March 6th on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hornbeck Hornets, sneaking past 2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-5 back in March.

Cameron Durr made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

The win made it two in a row for Converse and bumps their season record up to 13-16. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Hornbeck, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Converse will square off against Minden at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hornbeck, they will head out to take on Northwood at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
