Bainbridge has gone a perfect 7-0 against North Mason recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Spartans will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 4:15 p.m. Bainbridge's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so North Mason's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Bainbridge is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Jackson just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Timberwolves, falling 13-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Spartans have suffered since March 12th.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for North Mason, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Bremerton a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. That looming 10-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.
Boston Stanley and Danner Jones made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Stanley struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Jones pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Stanley got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Jones got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave Jones a new career-high.
In other batting news, Skylar McLean and Calvin Rice did most of the damage at the plate: McLean went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Rice went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those two hits gave McLean a new career-high. Josiah Ringstad was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
North Mason always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
North Mason's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Bainbridge, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.
Everything went Bainbridge's way against North Mason when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Bainbridge made off with a 9-1 victory. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
