Basketball Recap: St. Lawrence Central Takes a Loss

St. Lawrence Central suffered their closest defeat since January 11, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Madrid-Waddington Yellowjackets by a score of 55-52. The Larries were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Yellowjackets earlier this season, when they won 66-62.

Despite the loss, St. Lawrence Central still got an impressive performance from Ayden Beach, who went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Beach has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 25 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Zain Pasha, who posted seven points and five assists.

St. Lawrence Central's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Madrid-Waddington, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-3.

Looking ahead, St. Lawrence Central will take on Salmon River at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Lawrence Central is facing Salmon River at the right time seeing as Salmon River is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Madrid-Waddington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
