 Castilleja fell victim to Mercy and their airtight pitching crew  on Thursday. They lost  14-0 to the Mercy Bears. Castilleja's defeat continues a  trend for the  squad, making it seven in a row.
 Castilleja saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Lexie Stinson, who  went 1-for-1 with a  double.
 On Mercy's side,  J Villavicencio made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits (and not a single walk). Villavicencio was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  A Anderson, who  went 1-for-2 with a  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  K Thomas, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all two of her plate appearances.
 Castilleja's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Mercy, their victory  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 8-9-1.
 Coincidentally,  the two teams will both be playing Notre Dame the next time they take the field. Mercy will head out to face Notre Dame at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday, while Castilleja will  host them  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
