Recap: Batesburg-Leesville Panthers vs. Mid-Carolina Rebels

This season hasn't been kind to the Batesburg-Leesville Panthers, who are still winless after their sixth match. They had to suffer through a rough 57-14 loss at the hands of Mid-Carolina. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Batesburg-Leesville in their matchups with Mid-Carolina: they've now lost four in a row.

Mid-Carolina was led to victory by BreA Boyd and Addie Bowers. Boyd scored 14 points along with seven steals, while Bowers scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bowers has scored at least 25% of Mid-Carolina's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Shepherd, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.

Batesburg-Leesville bumped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mid-Carolina, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Batesburg-Leesville will be home for the holidays to greet Gilbert at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Gilbert will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Mid-Carolina won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Woodruff at 6:00 p.m. on December 13th. Hopefully Woodruff focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Monday.
