Basketball Game Preview: Pike County Pirates vs. Westside Seminoles

Having just played yesterday, the Pike County Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Westside Seminoles at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Pike County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-46 to Westside.

Despite the loss, Pike County got top-tier performance from Sadie Lewis, who posted 17 points and three steals. That's the most points Lewis has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maliyah Holmes, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

The win (which was Westside's fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Pike County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
