Baseball Game Preview: Enterprise Bulldogs vs. West Lauderdale Knights

Enterprise hasn't had much luck against West Lauderdale recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Enterprise Bulldogs will be playing at home against the West Lauderdale Knights at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Enterprise sitting on four straight victories and West Lauderdale on eight.

Last Monday, Enterprise earned an 8-4 win over Raleigh.

Ike McKelvain looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. He has become a key player for Enterprise: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Brody Smith was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February.

Meanwhile, West Lauderdale got the win against Taylorsville on Thursday by a conclusive 15-3. Considering the Knights have won six matchups by more than 11 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Enterprise pushed their record up to 5-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for West Lauderdale, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.
