Softball Recap: Shepherd Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Shepherd, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against the Gladwin Flying G on Tuesday as they made off with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bluejays, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Lylah Curtiss made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Curtiss was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Shepherd got a massive performance out of Jordan Schafer, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Schafer has posted since back in April. Lillian Loonsfoot was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Shepherd's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Gladwin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.

Shepherd will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Flying G's: the pair will be back at it again later today.
