Basketball Game Preview: Newcomerstown Trojans vs. Conotton Valley Rockets

The Newcomerstown Trojans will take on the Conotton Valley Rockets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Newcomerstown has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Conotton Valley will arrive with three straight victories.

Newcomerstown is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Tuscarawas Valley on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Newcomerstown lost 75-51 to Tuscarawas Valley. Newcomerstown was down 59-33 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Conotton Valley). They blew past Beallsville, posting a 71-35 win. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Rockets with their most commanding win of the season.

Conotton Valley's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8. As for Newcomerstown, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
