Volleyball Game Preview: Canyon Comanches vs. Garden Grove Argonauts

The Canyon Comanches will square off against the Garden Grove Argonauts at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Canyon got the win against Kennedy by a conclusive 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Comanches in their matchups with the Fighting Irish: they've now won five in a row.

Canyon not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Kennedy between 15 and 16 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-15, 25-16.

While Garden Grove didn't have the best season last year (they finished 15-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over La Quinta on Friday.

The win didn't come easy: La Quinta scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18, 17-25, 25-20.

The victory got Canyon back to even at 6-6. As for Garden Grove, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Everything went Canyon's way against Garden Grove in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Canyon made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Comanches repeat their success, or do the Argonauts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
