Volleyball Recap: Ansley/Litchfield Has No Trouble Against Grand Island Lutheran

Ansley/Litchfield had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Grand Island Lutheran on Thursday. The Spartans put the hurt on the Lightning with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Lightning: they've now won five in a row.

Ansley/Litchfield walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-14, 25-22.

Garittee Smith was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 30 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in November of 2024.

Ansley/Litchfield's victory bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Grand Island Lutheran, they moved to 9-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ansley/Litchfield will square off against Sumner-Eddyville-Miller at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grand Island Lutheran, they will take on Axtell on Monday.
