Elle Burns produced her best game of the campaign on Tuesday: she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was her third in a row with more than seven strikeouts. For the season, she has been strong no matter where she plays. On the mound, she has an ERA of 2.63 over 42.7 innings pitched. Meanwhile, at bat she has slashed 0.462/0.516/0.769 with 10 runs and just as many RBI.

Coming up, Burns and Providence School will venture away from home to square off against Clay at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burns has dominated as far as strikeouts are concerned (she's averaged 6.6 per game this season), but she's got her work cut out for her considering the Blue Devils have only allowed 3.33 per game this season.
