Softball Recap: Columbia Crimson Tide vs. Octorara Area Braves
Columbia had lost four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-10 to make it five. They came up short against the Octorara Area Braves, falling 17-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 31-1 two weeks ago.
As for Octorara Area, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Considering they have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Octorara Area's part, Devyn Harrington was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave Harrington a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney Amole, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia will square off against Conestoga Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Octorara Area, they will take on Lancaster Mennonite at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
