Softball Recap: White Hall's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

After a string of eight wins, White Hall's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They came up short against the Cabot Panthers, falling 10-4. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bulldogs, who until this contest were averaging 3.21 runs allowed.

Bethany Roper put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and eight unearned) runs off ten hits. Roper was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Maycey Langston made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

White Hall's loss dropped their record down to 19-9-1. As for Cabot, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 17-3.

White Hall and Cabot should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Arkansas Rankings. The Bulldogs (ranked 34th) will meet Arkansas (ranked 89th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cabot will take on Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (4 vs. 70).
