Marion Center and Northern Cambria are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2017, but not for long. The Stingers will square off against the Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Marion Center will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
On Friday, Marion Center was able to grind out a solid victory over Conemaugh Township, taking the game 32-20.
Marion Center's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Camden Rising, who rushed for 94 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 200 yards and one TD. Rising didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made two total tackles. Another player making a difference was Troy Slovinsky, who gained 154 total yards and a touchdown.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Marion Center proved: they limited Conemaugh Township to a paltry 1.8 yards per carry. While three picked up at least two total tackles, Rising stood above the rest. He rushed for 94 yards and one score, and also threw for 200 yards and one TD. Marion Center didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.6.

Marion Center's defense didn't let Greyson Studer, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Brooks Stormer with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with nine.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Northern Cambria, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They breezed past West Shamokin to the tune of 48-13 on Friday. Given the Colts' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 230th, while the Wolves are ranked 476th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marion Center better keep an eye on Malik Fox. He was instrumental in Northern Cambria's win, rushing for 84 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also picking up 31 receiving yards. Fox really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Northern Cambria, adding 18 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Fox, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Marion Center's record now sits at 6-0. As for Northern Cambria, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Marion Center was taken down by Northern Cambria 32-0 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Thankfully for the Stingers, Ty Dumm (who rushed for 119 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries, and also threw for 184 yards and three TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time.
