Recap: Montgomery Catholic Knights vs. Andalusia Bulldogs
The Montgomery Catholic Knights put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 27-14 victory over Andalusia. For Montgomery Catholic, this counts as revenge for the 29-26 loss Andalusia walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.
Caleb Mccreary continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 123 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also throwing for nine yards and a touchdown. Mccreary was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards. Another player making a difference was Josh Griffin, who rushed for 140 yards.
Although Andalusia took the loss, they still got scores from Landen Marshall and J'marion Burnette.
Montgomery Catholic has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 10-0 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Andalusia, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montgomery Catholic will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on West Blocton at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. West Blocton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 165 points over their last four matchups. Andalusia will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Sipsey Valley at 7:00 p.m. on November 11th. Sipsey Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 175th, while Andalusia is ranked 43rd).
