Basketball Recap: St. Brendan Comes Up Short

St. Brendan saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 55-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Miramar Patriots.

Miramar's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Martell Smith, who posted 11 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Smith has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Skinner, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

St. Brendan has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Miramar, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.

St. Brendan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 68-24 win against Bay on the 4th. As for Miramar, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-47 victory against Lehigh on the 4th.
