Basketball Recap: Hudson Comes Up Short

Hudson lost against River Ridge back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hudson Cobras had to suffer through a 66-20 loss at the hands of the River Ridge Royal Knights. The Cobras were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-7.

Despite the loss, Hudson still got an impressive performance from Grace Rutherford, who posted six points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Richardson, who earned two points and four steals.

Lauren Lee continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for River Ridge, almost dropping a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. Lee is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mya Greene, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 16 points and four steals.

Hudson has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for River Ridge, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.

Hudson will welcome Hernando at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for River Ridge, they will head out to face off against Cypress Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. River Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season.
