Football Recap: Redbank Valley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Bradford last Friday, Redbank Valley came back down to earth. The Bulldogs were beaten by the Punxsutawney Chucks 56-14 on Friday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chucks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Although Redbank Valley took the loss, they still got scores from Braylon Wagner and Riley Schrecengost.

Punxsutawney had a senior duo take command as Jordan Rutan rushed for 112 yards and three TDs on only ten carries and Maddox Hetrick threw for 271 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 86.7% of his passes. Rutan's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Thomas, who picked up 96 receiving yards and one score.

Redbank Valley now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Punxsutawney, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Redbank Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 36-8 win against Brashear on the 10th. As for Punxsutawney, they have also already played their next matchup, a 49-0 victory against St. Marys on the 10th.
