Little Elm scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 35-28 to the Coppell Cowboys. The Lobos gained 93 more yards on the day, but it was the Cowboys that made the best use of them.

Little Elm's loss came despite strong showings from Thomas Adams and Calton Mims. Adams threw for 274 yards and two touchdowns, while Mims picked up 146 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

It was another big night for Carter Zingelmann, who threw for 164 yards and three TDs while completing 81.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 80 yards for Coppell. 82 of Zingelmann's passing yards were hauled in by Crew Davis, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Little Elm's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Coppell, their record is now 4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Little Elm is set to square off against their familiar foe Hebron at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Coppell will take on rival Lewisville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Zingelmann and Tre Williams.
