Basketball Game Preview: Flowing Wells Caballeros vs. Santa Rita Eagles

The Flowing Wells Caballeros will be taking part in a tournament against the Santa Rita Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Flowing Wells is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

Flowing Wells is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Ironwood Ridge on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Flowing Wells was outmatched by Ironwood Ridge and fell 68-41. The Caballeros were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-13.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Santa Rita faced off against Rio Rico on Wednesday. The match between Santa Rita and Rio Rico didn't end well, with Santa Rita falling 64-46. The Eagles have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Flowing Wells' loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Santa Rita, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Flowing Wells strolled past Santa Rita in their previous matchup back in January of 2016 by a score of 75-58. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Santa Rita's Danny Gonzales, who went 10 of 20 on his way to 26 points and four steals.
