Basketball Game Preview: Holmes Huskies vs. Harlan Hawks

Holmes hasn't had much luck against Harlan recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Holmes Huskies will take on the Harlan Hawks at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Holmes is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Sotomayor on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Holmes had to suffer through a 63-29 loss at the hands of Sotomayor. The Huskies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-8.

Meanwhile, Harlan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-41 heartbreaker at the hands of Marshall.

Harlan's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Holmes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-13.

Holmes didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Harlan when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 43-39 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Holmes since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
