Soccer Recap: Emporia Takes a Loss

Emporia lost against Washburn Rural back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Spartans came up short against the Blues, falling 8-0. The shutout was out of character for Emporia seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

This is the second loss in a row for Emporia and nudges their season record down to 7-7. As for Washburn Rural, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Coming up, Emporia will welcome Augusta at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Washburn Rural, they are taking a road trip to face off against Northwest on Thursday.
