Basketball Recap: Vasquez Takes a Loss

Vasquez lost against Littlerock back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Vasquez Mustangs took a hard 62-45 fall against the Littlerock Lobos. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 364th, while the Lobos are ranked 149th).

Chailyn Finley was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 16 rebounds for Littlerock. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathew Monroy, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 13 points and five assists.

Vasquez is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-5. As for Littlerock, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

Vasquez didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-65 win against Hart on the 21st. As for Littlerock, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-47 defeat against Crescenta Valley on the 21st.
