After having lost a blowout in their previous game against The Linsly School, Summers County was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 19-10 margin over the Bluefield Beavers. The Bobcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Braiden Cozort, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Boone, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Summers County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .488. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Summers County's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-14-1. As for Bluefield, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Summers County has already played their next game, a 12-1 victory against Midland Trail on the 22nd. As for Bluefield, they are taking a road trip to challenge Mingo Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
