Baseball Recap: Fort Payne Extends Winning Streak to Five

Fort Payne got themselves on the board against Fyffe on Tuesday, but Fyffe never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Fyffe Red Devils with a sharp 10-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Wildcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ryker Ingle looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Malcolm Jackson, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Blake Griggs, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

The win was the fifth in a row for Fort Payne, bringing their record for this year to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Fyffe, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1.
