Santiago had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They snuck past the Vanden Vikings with a 61-55 win. Given the Sharks' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Vikings are ranked 508th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Vanden lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Isiah Dixon, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Chriseanie Nealy was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Santiago's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Vanden, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Santiago wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 64-55 defeat against Clark on the 21st. As for Vanden, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 91-62 win against The Vine Christian Academy on the 21st.
