In other batting news, Kindra Kelch was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Felicia Parker, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Santa Fe Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Cambridge Christian suffered their closest defeat since April 29, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Foundation Christian Academy by a score of 10-8.
Shelby Bellomo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Tessa Nichols, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Santa Fe Catholic pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Cambridge Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4.
Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Santa Fe Catholic has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .541. However, it's not like Cambridge Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .467. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
