New Castle had lost 13 games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 6-16 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Connersville Spartans. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 3-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

New Castle saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gannon Harris, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Connersville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

On Connersville's side, they got a good showing from Jay McMullen, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero earned runs gave McMullen a new career-low.

On the hitting side, Landyn Geise was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

New Castle didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-1 defeat against New Palestine on the 21st. As for Connersville, they have also already played their next contest, an 8-4 loss against Greensburg on the 19th.
