Softball Recap: Harmony Grove's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

11 must be Harmony Grove's lucky number: they beat Mayflower with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Cardinals beat the Eagles by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-3. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Macee Tidwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Harmony Grove let Kynley Helton and Cayleigh Whaley run wild. Helton went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run, while Whaley went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that Helton has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbi Andres, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Harmony Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mayflower only managed eight.

The win (which was Harmony Grove's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Mayflower, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Harmony Grove will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Arkadelphia at 4:30 p.m. on the 30th. As for Mayflower, they will challenge Glen Rose at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
