Basketball Recap: Arvada Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Arvada unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Westminster Wolves on Monday, falling 74-33. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-14.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quentin Kohler, who posted eight points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaiden Roybal, who put up four points and nine boards.

Westminster's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elyas Romero, who went 6-for-15 en route to 14 points along with eight assists and five steals. Those eight assists gave Romero a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dennis Ross, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 14 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Looking ahead, Arvada is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Village at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Westminster, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 70-41 victory against Adams City on the 2nd.
