Basketball Game Preview: McEwen Warriors vs. Santa Fe Wildcats + How To Watch

McEwen has gone a perfect 10-0 against Santa Fe recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Warriors will be home for the holidays to greet the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.

McEwen is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Perry County for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-34 win. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

McEwen's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Laila Downs, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and 19 rebounds, and Georgia Drinnen, who went 9-for-17 from beyond the arc to rack up 33 points. The contest was Downs' 39th in a row with at least 16 points. Ava Lastovka was another key player, putting up six points and seven boards.

McEwen was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They are 3-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Santa Fe faced off against Hughes on Saturday. The Wildcats blew past the Lions 54-26. The matchup marked the Wildcats' most dominant win of the season so far.

The victory got McEwen back to even at 4-4. As for Santa Fe, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

McEwen was able to grind out a solid victory over Santa Fe in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 53-41. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
