Basketball Game Preview: Delhi Bears vs. Union Parish Farmers

The Delhi Bears will face off against the Union Parish Farmers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Delhi will be strutting in after a victory while Union Parish will be coming in after a defeat.

Union Parish will be up against a hot Delhi team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Delhi breezed by General Trass to the tune of 55-17 on Tuesday. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 54-26, which was the final score in Union Parish's tilt against Arcadia on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Farmers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Hornets are ranked 39th).

Delhi has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Union Parish, they dropped their record down to 15-13 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Delhi didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Union Parish in their previous matchup back in December of 2015, but they still walked away with a 54-49 win. Will Delhi repeat their success, or does Union Parish have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
