Softball Game Preview: Mott Marauders vs. Lamphere Rams

The Mott Marauders will challenge the Lamphere Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mott will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Port Huron, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Marauders were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Red Hawks on Thursday. The victory was just business as usual for the Marauders, who after nine games remain undefeated this season.

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Lamphere and Center Line, and Lamphere kept the tradition alive. The Rams never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Thursday.

Lamphere got a massive performance out of Emilie Eritano (2025), who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that Eritano (2025) has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Aliana Martinez (2026), who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Lamphere always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Center Line only posted an OBP of .400.

Mott pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average this season. As for Lamphere, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season.

Mott skirted past Lamphere 17-15 when the teams last played back in May of 2019. Will the Marauders repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
