Stall hasn't had much luck against Academic Magnet recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Stall Warriors will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Academic Magnet Raptors at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Stall's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past North Charleston 11-0. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Yohan Tolentino and Carter Ashley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Tolentino tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Ashley kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over 4.2 innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At bat, Tolentino went 1-for-3 with three RBI, while Ashley scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Dominic Stewart was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Yan Tolentino was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Academic Magnet). Everything went their way against Woodland on Tuesday as Academic Magnet made off with a 13-3 victory. The Raptors have beaten the Wolverines the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wolverines has come to flipping the script.
Like Stall, Academic Magnet also got a great game from a two-way player: Revuelta Jose. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Jose was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Those runs were his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Spann Andrew, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. He also put up three RBI, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ivey Cole, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Academic Magnet always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Stall might still be hurting after the 14-6 defeat they got from Academic Magnet when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Stall avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
