New Heights Christian Academy came into Friday's game looking for another win against Jasper, but Colt Clements wouldn't allow it. The Eagles put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 42-22 victory on Friday thanks in part to Clements, who rushed for 107 yards and three touchdowns. He has become a key player for Jasper: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise.

One reason for the win was Jasper's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece ( Keilen Greene and Carson Lehman also recorded half a sack).

The win got Jasper back to even at 4-4. As for New Heights Christian Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jasper will host Appleton City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for New Heights Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Drexel/Miami at 7:00 p.m.
