Recap: Deshler Dragons vs. Giltner Hornets
The Deshler Dragons won the last time they faced the Giltner Hornets, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Deshler narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Giltner 41-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Deshler.
Deshler found their leader in underclassman Carson Sieber, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brent Buescher, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Deshler is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Giltner, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deshler's road trip will continue as they head out to face Red Cloud at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Red Cloud is coming into the contest with three straight defeats at home, meaning Deshler will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for Giltner, they will head out on the road to square off against Silver Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Giltner has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
