Burney kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell to the Big Valley Cardinals 46-40. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, Burney still got an impressive performance from Kyle Noah, who rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes. A healthy portion of that aerial production (152 yards to be exact) went to Killian Biles.

Burney's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Cisco Chacon and Biles. Chacon's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing a fumble and making six total tackles (1.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.

Burney will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on Hayfork at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Big Valley, they will head out to take on Westwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
