Baseball Recap: Kirksville Comes Up Short

If Kirksville was riding high fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Knob Noster on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Centralia Panthers on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Kirksville has also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Centralia, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 18-1.

Kirksville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-7 loss against Boonville on the 25th. As for Centralia, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-5 win against Knob Noster on the 25th.
