Basketball Recap: Buffalo Falls Short Against Ranked Wheatland

On Saturday, Buffalo faced Wheatland in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Buffalo Bison fell 53-41 to the Wheatland Bulldogs. The Bison were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 57-51.

Wheatland found their leader in sophomore Lily Anderson, who shot 45% from the field on her way to 31 points in addition to six boards and three steals. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Anderson has scored at least a third of Wheatland's points. Another player making a difference was Karly Jones, who posted eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Buffalo's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Wheatland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-8.

As of now, neither Buffalo nor Wheatland have any future games scheduled.
