Football Recap: Bishop's Falls Despite Big Games from Cash Herrera and Dane Larson

After flying high against Escondido Charter last Saturday, Bishop came back down to earth. The Knights fell 28-21 to the Army-Navy Warriors on Friday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Bishop's loss came despite strong showings from Dane Larson and Cash Herrera. Larson picked up 119 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while Herrera threw for 202 yards and two touchdowns. Larson's longest reception was for an incredible 90 yards.

While Bishop's came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Army-Navy: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 50%. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Bishop's; they were averaging 62.3%completion percentage earlier this season, but in their last three contests they've fallen to only 62.3%.

Bishop's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2. As for Army-Navy, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Bishop's has already played their next matchup, a 28-9 loss against Santa Fe Christian on the 31st. As for Army-Navy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 36-6 win against Classical Academy on the 30th.
