Baseball Game Preview: Howell Central Spartans vs. Eureka Wildcats

The Howell Central Spartans will challenge the Eureka Wildcats at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Howell Central nor Eureka posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Howell Central's tournament run continued when they took on Christian Brothers on Saturday. Howell Central fell 7-2 to Christian Brothers. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Cadets recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, Eureka suffered their closest loss since May 1, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of St. Dominic by a score of 4-2.

Eureka's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. As for Howell Central, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Howell Central couldn't quite get it done against Eureka in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Can Howell Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
