Basketball Recap: Clarksburg Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Clarksburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 57-46 to the Urbana Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Coyotes of the 61-57 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Loss or not, Clarksburg got some senior leadership from DB Hamlett and Zion Carrie. Hamlett went 7-for-14 en route to 21 points, while Carrie posted seven points and 13 boards.

Leading Urbana to victory were Jaxson Howington and Mason Leonard. Howington almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Leonard almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards. The matchup was Howington's third in a row with at least 19 points. James McGinley was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Clarksburg's record now sits at 0-3. As for Urbana, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Clarksburg and Paint Branch will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Urbana, they will be home for the holidays to greet Governor Thomas Johnson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
